"Contraband": Uplifting for the Yout of America . . .

Wow, what a shitty film. The previews seemed to have been punched up to make this film look better than in the theater. From what I could tell the actual movie looked to be shot on HD and the colors seemed to be dull almost lifeless. I don't think that was an effect just shitty handling of the cinematography. This is a very low budget production shot in NOLA. The script and plot was extremely forgettable. Wahlberg Beckinsale, Foster, and Ribisi basically threw their time away being in this one. I guess most of the budget went for the actors and not much else.

The highlight was the Jackson Pollack. In Panama Marky and his men got invited to knock off an armored and the Pollock was taken. Nobody on the crew said "WOW, a Jackson Pollock". After the brains got killed the Pollock was treated as a drop cloth or tarp....even by Port Authorities in a search.

Now, the major gripe is that Wahlberg's whole family has been involved in crime. Smugglers by trade. Marky's last gig before he retired was currency so his brother-in-law thought he would get in the business. He fooked up and by the rules he makes good or dies. Then we go off on the extended ship smuggling of currency, drugs, and a Jackson Pollock. In the end this happy crime family prevails and successfully scores ten pounds of cocaine, 15 million in high quality currency, a Jackson Pollack at $140M, and killed about ten people in the process. They all high five and are relived the threat to their lives has ended and that they have millions and millions coming their way!

What is wrong with Hollywood?
